Balloon Shadow Cellars and Winery Services…

…is a Temecula based company that works with small vineyard owners and wine makers to facilitate in all of the processes associated with making wine. I have been active in the Temecula Valley AVA for since 2013 and operating under the BSC business name since 2016. During those years I have performed grape sales coordination, vineyard maintenance, harvest preparations, grape harvesting and processing, juice testing, winemaking (from crush to bottling support), and post-harvest vineyard maintenance.

Although this is not my primary job… I have a great interest in helping the small growers and winemakers enjoy all of the aspects of growing grapes, harvesting and processing the fruit and producing quality wines.

With that said, the most important part of the equation is the overall enjoyment of the process. Growing grapes, harvesting, and producing a wine that you can actually drink is not an easy task. It is hard work to manage vines and grow a nice crop of grapes. It requires attention to details, many hours of walking the rows, several months of painstaking effort – and a kind and gentle Mother Nature just to get to harvest. Once you have successfully harvested the grapes… you can then enjoy the winemaking process. However, you still have 12 to 24 months (or longer) before you get to enjoy what you have worked so hard for!

But once you have reached that milestone… there is nothing more enjoyable than sitting on your patio with a glass of your own wine in hand. There is something very satisfying with the knowledge that you put in the effort to get the grapes from vineyard to bottle and that you have elevated that fruit to something that can be called wine. This is why we do what we do as small vineyard owners and winemakers.
